soup again...bent prop

I must have one of the highest rates on hitting log in the site...lol
today morning i did it again...hit a branch...and bent the prop...
haven´t seen the damage yet as i left the boat in the water..but it did vibrate quite on take off...
I was out to do some BF runs...but it was little windy so is was choppy and the fact I had the damage...went back home without touching water...boomer..no boating this WE....
This is the second hit in the year....
Water today was full of debris due to high tides...

Kap, I would have to say if I boated with your crew, I would probably be hitting boats instead of branches!

Will got it fix asap..hope the shaft is well....if not I´ll do the claim to insurance and that for sure will take a couple of weeks until the boat gets inspected etc....

It's probbablly not easy to find a stainless prop the spins the right way, but might be worth looking for. I had a stainless on my last boat and we hit all kinds of sticks and even a few pieces of lumber and never had any damage.   I love my Acme prop, but it sure doesn't take much to bend it.

I would stay away from stainless props just because of the "Whack" Factor!
You whack a stainless prop and usually you take the shaft and to some extent the strut can be damaged. Nibral props tend to be more forgiving on the rest of the drive train when impact occurs with sunken treasures! Also initial expense is substancially higher and repair of SS props are expensive.

upon visual inspection..no visible damage at all...I cab barely see 1 of the blades a little bend to the front and some little shaft wobble st the log entrance....so off will go...
this time I´m getting a new shaft..as this one has gone through 5 repairs, so might be comming weak....

ha still fighting to remove the prop...its well set on its taper!!!
I´m using a home made puller but its kind of cheese and its bends when I start turning the screw...also the blade hit against it and If I continue to turn it hits against the puller and will eventually bend...Soooo I had to let a mechanic remove the prop for me....
Now i´m considering buying a prop puller ARE or OJ or making one as the one pete uses.
I saw a picture around of someone who made one like that but not as pro as Pete´s

Buy a harmonic from Acme. Works like a champ.

I made it and bought enough material and hardware to make 10 of them, the cheapest i can make them for with the machining is a hundy, if i got 5 commits i would finish them.
