Need an ECM for 502 python motor. The mechanic at the local marina said that any MEFI 3 can be reprogrammed by PCM ? but I would prefer to have the one for my engine. Any help locating one of these would be greatly appreciated. PCM said they are out of new.

I am not sure they exist. The python motor is pretty rare as is parts. Are you sure you need one or is your mechanic telling you that you need one.

Trying to find a Python ECM used will more than likely not happen. Also Not really sure but I think that the Python sported MEFI 4. need to know what year python looks like retail the unit could run anywhere from $660-$1800. Again need to know the year.

I have never heard anyone say that pythons dont hold up. I know of plenty that are worry free. They drink a little oil, but no failures. I wish I could help you more on the ECM, but have you contacted PCM directly?

Yes they are not giving much help on the situation. Wont release codes to ecm company to reflash it. Have to send to pcm now to be reflashed. but at least should be able to get up and running again soon

What happened to your engine?   Hours?   Maintenance?
