I got to test the boat todat..with the spare 14 x 16 prop...still feel some vibration..not much but enough to shake the coins in the cup holders on take off...
Long time I hadn´t use that prop..felt very smooth in the 2500-3500 rpm band...
So again I will need to remove the prop and shaft...

So As I heve the shaft out to have it straighten out...I might venture this time to have another sahft made...
I will use the machinist that build the prop puller.
I have to provide him the materials.
Is 304 stainless Steel a good choice for fresh water usage? or should I go 316?
The 1" x 4ft bar is around $55
then around $200 to have it machined...

Seb,
The 304 is fine. You'll pay big time for the 316!!! Just make sure you get a straight and ground piece.

I was gazing at your lathe Kap and it reminded of one of the tow boat captains up here, he owns a machine shop and owes me 400 bucks, he called me Monday and asked how much he owed me and went on to tell me why I havnt heard from him. well, he got his sleeve caught in the lathe and it pulled him in, it stalled what he says is the 25 hp motor on it, 2 weeks in the hospital and 4 months to recover....I let him know it was a good excuse in my book

sometimes I do...
so I got everything back toghether..had to cut the shaft log hose to accomodate the OEM seal (longer than the new I replaced) cause i didn´t have enough place to put the coupler and the wrench to adjust everything back..other than that I went pretty straight forward.
Had to move the engine as i had some diference on the coupling to trans top to bottom of around, minor just .003 and ended up with .001, side to side was fine...
then went for the test drive..now the thing is real smooth...oem shaft seal works fine, almost no dripping, just a few as expected....

Anyway I had to put the old shaft there, the keys in the new one where stuck there, woulnd´t budge using the pliers...and I didn´t want to force it out..
then I took it home and using the bench press and some heat, the key pop out...
