Scott Walker has started to turn Wisconsin around from being a bloated, "tax and spend" union-based government beauracracy and in to a lean/mean job creating healthy state that companies now want to move to. We need somebody like him in the White House!! But, we also need a conservative Congress and Senate as well to back him up.

It will be interesting to see how your argument fairs in the next two weeks, after the recalls.....he he he he he

Then from November to January, it will be fun to watch. recall for the Walker looks promising.

By the way, Walkers slogan "open for bidness" well, that hasn't worked out to well for him. Net job gain to date.... -20,ooo

He has a tough road to follow.

I also love the Paul Ryan references, do you remember where that plan went? The trash can, especially after most Repubs jumped ship...

And what facts do you have to prove Mr. Walkers slogan will not work?? What un credible source did you get your -20,000... Walker has benefitted the workforce there and fighted them labor unions Obama has tried to push but will not work. Unions dont work, they bankrupt states, countrys etc. All states need to follow the "right to work" polociey rather than "you owe me" which unions follow. Well done for Mr. Walker.

The thing you need to know and reason why my great and wonderful friends jumped ship on the plan, great for the house, but wont pass in the Senate when you dealing with numsculs in the Senate such as Reid. "CUTS" are not in there vocab bro..

I will laugh at folks in November of 2012. All you ***************g lefties are toast. Obama approval rating is at 30%% and it will be a total mismatch in November. It will not matter, who, color or what is runnning against Obama. But like me, it takes me 5 seconds to vote. Spin the wheel, hit all republican and ssssssseeeee yyyyyaaaaaaa

Actually 20,000 is way low if you consider the loss of jobs from the "high speed rail" project. That is estimated at 130,000

OnOneWheel....I think you have been riding your government issued unicycle in the sun too long. I don't know where you got your information about -20,000 jobs. WHAT!?!?!?! WRONG!!!

Wisconsin has created 39,000 new jobs since Walker was elected, and, get this..... added 9,500 NEW jobs in June, or 50% OF THE NEW JOBS CREATED IN THE ENTIRE USA IN JUNE!!! Not a bad record.

Oh, by the way, S&P issued a statement that if the Congress/Senate/WH had adpoted Paul Ryan's plan, they would not have issued the downgrade.

Okay, carry on with your re-call election planning. I wouldn't get your hopes too high though. The LIBS in Wisconsin have lost every attempt to undo what Walker has done. Come on, face it....the country is turning against the tactics that your side has used for so long to wreck Wisconson and the country. I can't wait until the 2012 elections when we can send Obama packing. I sure hope he doesn't come back to Illinois.

We have enough trouble as it is due to our own Uber-liberal government, high taxes, and billions of dollars of debt. Not sure you have heard, but, companies like CAT, Sears and others are contemplating leaving Illinois due to policies like the ones you seem to want to return in Wisconsin.

1. Show me the article on S&P statement of Paul Ryans plan

2. Walker was elected in Jan, and your report of 39,000 jobs was produced in April. I can not see how he did this so fast.

3. 9,500, half of those jobs are temporary tourism jobs, also low paying.

Here is the article if you want the long version. He is not all roses as you wish to believe.

Cokie Roberts said our biggest problem is our Constitution?!!?

So they went from 'jobs created' to 'jobs created or saved'. How should we catagorize those rail jobs that don't even exist? 'Jobs created, saved, and promised?

I think we still have a few left over beers from our party; you're welcome to one if you need something to cry in. Please explain to me how any buisness can function when 95% of their SOW is to manage debt? In other words, 95% of a company's efforts are realizing no return. Sorry, that can't last.

And I challenge you to rationalize that Judge Judy video I posted above. The co-star in that video is a direct result of vote buying. And ask me how many folks I know who won't be looking for work as long as the couch surfing boom is still in full swing. And which party is promoting this sort of thing?

Our country is a macrocosm of the guy who is living well on his credit limit while making zero plans for what he will do when it maxes out. Yes, he can get another card, but even that runs out.
Whatever...
I cited a story reported by Thinkprogress, WHICH WAS PERFORMED BY REUTERS.

Is Rueters too biased for you?

Certainly not the worst offender but check out this link

http://honestreporting.com/study-reuters-headlines/

Our media are trained by our education system which has been dominated and controlled by the left for decades. I am sure many reporters believe they are unbiased but their belifs come through in their writting because they are a part of them. This is the most incideous type of bias because it goes mostly unnoticed. We know Shawn Hannity is biased and we also know his show is commentary, not reporting. We know nothing about reuters reporters and assume they are taking a nuetral stance, we are influenced by what they write, and their personal biases.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Ah, the old "high speed rail" job losses argument. What a stretch! How can you say that these were jobs were lost when they were never there to start with? Reminds me of the phrase...."jobs created or saved".

Thank god the Republicans killed this massive boon-doggle high speed rail project between Milwaukee and Madison before the government ever got a chance to waste billions of taxpayer dollars on it. It would lose money as far out as the eye can see.

What is it with Liberals and train projects? That is always the savior of the economy. LOL!!

I have an idea....how about cutting our taxes so that we can have more money in our pockets, and decide how best to spend it without letting it go through the governments very inefficient and quite wasteful hands?

Who knows, maybe we would even buy a new Ski Nautique that would employee boat builders in Orlando, who could then buy a new car and employee auto workers in Detroit, who could then buy new carpeting for thier house and employee carpet mill workers in Georgia, who could buy a new................................!

Dow futures are down over 200. Did anyone hear fiddle music in the East Wing the other night?

Excuse me but I hate both democrats and republicans and anyone else who votes on party lines. I am not a democrat or a republican and I'm a registered independent voter. I've voted both dems and repubs in the past. Like I said, they both suck 1% for the 1% it's all about money.

The system needs revamping. Pundants are in it for the bennies, the croney voting, the bucks, and re election. That is not how we should be represented. Automatic raises, big pensions, college paying for staff kids, no term limits, kick backs, etc etc has made the congress a powerful but beholding group that is out of control. Blame, speeches, more blame, moer speeches, round and round but no one standing up and taking the bull by the horns and trying to get something good done. Media jumps on the band wagon with opinionated experts chiming in and setting the course for nothing good to get accomplished. I don't know how and exactly what is needed but until we change HOW we do business nothing will change. Whether your an Dem, Rep, Ind etc the deck is stacked and it's a rigged game.

Yeah, ok. What freedoms are we currently fighting for? I don't think our freedoms were ever at risk since World War II.

And second off, we just hate the goverment. It is something we our just born with. Obama or lefties that believe the goverment should run this country and not the peps of America and free market get under my skin too. This economic systm was not designed to the goverment to interfer with jobs, taxs, wall street etc, but this country is desgined for the "American Dream", and the lefties always want to do things opposite so thats why I really dislike, and hate far left poloticians.

When will people realize that this country is run for the top 1% by the top 1%? Liberal and conservatives cater to big business and wall street. Goldman Sachs runs this country.

Here's a fact you may like. Did you know under President Obama, the U.S. has deported a record number of illegal immigrants?

Quote
Give you an example, last night watching my loved Fox Nexs

Pretty obvious that Fox News is your source for your information. Fox News only tells one side of the story and it is a very biased one. Are you a fan of Ayn Rand?

Phil, I heard a quote from a russian leader that the US could not be defeated from the outside but we can easily destroy ourselves from within. The assualt of freedom we on the right are fighting has been taking place since the new deal. This country has not moved right. In fact the average republican today has social and economic views similar to the average democrat in the 60's. Do you realise that you are in fact an extremist as compared to the average american? (Admiiting it is the first step towards help) This will skew your impressions because of your point of view. I will freely admit that I am conservative and on the right side of the spectrum. So does FOX. Try to get CNN or CBS to admit they lean left though and it will not happen. This country is now at the point where it has spent itself broke, it tells private business that its customers cannot use legal products(smoking bans) it is about to dictate to cherios that there cereal is not healthy enough to be sold. Our President tells us on tv that we need to redistribute wealth for social justice. You complain about the tea party but you created them. The mother of the tea party is the freedoms supported by the visions of our founding fathers in our constitution, but the left is the illegitimate father. They planted the seed that grew the tea party by pushing average americans to far. The average american is much closer to me that to you. They will compromise to get along untill you push them to far. Currently they have been pushed way to far. Your policies lack any economic understanding. We were sold that if we did not raise our debt cieling we would have our ratings downgraded. so we raised it only to be told that the debt cieling was not the problem, it is our spending, just like the conservatives have been saying for 40 years. We have had a AAA rating since 1911. Giving you guys the presidency, house and senate for two years destroyed that. It is time to move right. your side has screwed us up enough and we will have to clean this up while dragging you kicking a nd screaming like spoiled kids. Thanks.

Those immegrants being deported. You do realise that the very first act they did when entering our country was to break our laws. Try this in revearse and you will spend at least ten years in a Mexican jail. We politely point them back home only after they commit a second crime.

Your view of what happened with the debt is amazing.

- It was the Dems that offered all the compromise
- The Repub held off until the last moment
- Most of America does not support your view, (unless of course you are getting figures from Fox)
- Congressional approval rating is at low point in history
- it was the Rep who held out until the last few hours that likely caused the downgrade, as the agencies see it as instability
- You think Demss have responsibility for this mess because we had control?
Really?, How many Americans do you think would agree with you on that? I for one knew it before Obama was even elected.

For the record OVERMYHEAD, I never called you a racist. It was whoever had the nice little names for Obama.
I have kept it fairly civil with you, and intend to/

OMG another idiot. You been brain washed bro, and need serious help. Obama has accumulated over 14 trillion dollars of debt. Get your facts strait bro and go put some lotion on your hands and go watch liberal TV with Woppie ***************g Goldberg.

I hate most democrats. I said, "MOST"!! They have very little economic common since to stimulating the free market. They believe it goes from bottom to top, when it goes from top to bottom.

Secondly most or all of them follow the un-christian way which is highly against the repbulican way (Pro Life) . abortion, same sex marriage, Which I know these are core values that are taught at home but if somebody will make a social judgment in this manor, make a decision like that, you have to question there character as a person. So what do you think they will do in office?? How can you let them make big decision for this country if they can not even make a correct social judgment towards human life.

If you read the whole post I was talking about who educated our journalists. I am sure they would have liberals teach economics too if they could find some liberals that actually understood economics.

I give you new respect for your comments about Shawn hannity. Too often I hear ignorant righties talk of Hannity, Beck, and limbaugh like they are the gospel truth. EDIT, I did not mean ignorant righties with my above statement, only the ones on the right that cannot figure out the difference of opinion, and real news.

But, with your above argument, we also know nothing about the reporters from most sources as well.

Reading this story it places the main blame for for the downgrade on republican caused gridlock. Reading the S&P opinion, the gridlacok was a secondary factor, the debt was the primary problem. Also S&P cited worries that a decision will be made not to honor some debt if future gridlock occurs. As it sits, it would be a decision of the executive branch as to who If anyone would not get paid. (That is Obama), My judgement, more of an opinion piece than unbiased reporting.

...
2nd part 1st. you stated people who support the Tea Party and voted aginst obama a racist. I have not attended any tea party events but I follow the movement and identify with the group. I feel I would be a memeber of the group you refer to and thus was being called a racist by association. Fact is despite the best efforts of liberals to catagorize the tea party this way I have not heard af anyone associated with this movement being charged with a hate crime, I have heard of no violent acts, peoplw of color have been welcomed with open arms at Tea party events, and the media has not been able to confirm any evidence of racism. This label is simply an effort to silence and discredit a group what they cannoteffectively argue against.

Now the first part. Republicans want budget cuts and we want them now. Offering a debt increase now in exchange for a decrease in the automatic 8% increase in baseline budgeting (Democrats call an increase less than 8% a cut)over the next ten years is a major compromise.

The house republicans passed cap and balance weeks before the deadline. The senate and president declared it dead on arrival. The house did their job. the senate could have modified the plan and sent it into reconcilliation but did not. The house created several other plans but the dems are now the party of no. Harry reids plan never got off the groung and the president with no plan of his own held out for a tax increase untill the last minute. His ideolgy lead to grid lock as much as the tea partys. It takes two to gridlock.

Poles from multiple sources have americans more americans wanting spending brought under control than those who dont. Your making me look up to much crap, youll have tot look for the poles yourself, and not on liberal blogs. Congress aproval is in the tank,I believe Harry Rieds is the lowest.

Obama keeps saying he inherited the debt from Bush, but if debt is the problem how would quadroopling it in his first two years make that better. That whole premise is the biggest crock I have ever heard, and I cannot believe he does not get called on it in every press conference he has. Obama made a campain promise that he would cut the debt in half in his first two years. He also promised to get out of Irag in 18 months, to reach across the isle, to have the most open administration ever.... It is easy to tell when he is lying... just look for his lips moving.

This is true, I follow many media sources, most mainstream including abc, cbs, fox, AP, Every reporter has a personal bias about something, I dont claim they are all in the tank for a certain cause or politician, (Some clearly are) but their opinions will always come out in their writing, Its like how you don't see your own typos. I have made it a hobby to look for the bias in each news report I consume. It takes vigilance, especially when you agree with the source.

Excuse me but I hate both democrats and republicans and anyone else who votes on party lines. I am not a democrat or a republican and I'm a registered independent voter. I've voted both dems and repubs in the past. Like I said, they both suck 1% for the 1% it's all about money.

And you cannot compare FoxNews to cnn. Perhaps MSNBC but not cnn.

Phil label yourself as you would like but the policies and values you put out are strait from the liberal playbook.

It is always about the money and the power. That is why I am for smaller government. Less money = less opportunity= less power =easier to monitor =less corruption. That is why our constitution should be viewed as a contract not a living document, and we should never have let our government get into the entitlement buiness which is now 65% of the budget and never needed to be in the buget at all.

I can compare and contrast FOX and CNN, they are both equally biased , fox to the right and CNN to the left. Differences, FOX admits it CNN does not.

Overmyhead,

Here is an excerpt from S&P's explanation,

We have changed our assumption on this because the majority of Republicans in Congress continue to resist any measure that would raise revenues, a position we believe Congress reinforced by passing the act.

I can post the whole explanation if you do not want to look for it.

A little bit about S&P.
They have been wrong before, that is easily verifiable too. ( they were wrong on this one too, 2 trillion off, and they released the information anyway)
They were wrong about Lehman Bros.
They helped us to get into the debt situation in 2005, 2006 as they failed to rate AIG and the like, correctly.

You know as well as I do if your family budget is dire, you can spend less, and you can earn more. It's up to you. Most would, if they have a choice would do both. The U.S. could do the same, like Reid's plan. The Cut, cap, balance did not take any raise of revenues into account.
Even closing the loopholes isn't a main stream idea.

I for one have never said on this forum being a fan of Obama. Look back. To the contrary actually. that doesn't mean I follow the thinking of the far rights. Just like it takes both sides to gridlock it is the same at the negotiating table.
But i do defend Obama when it comes to this nations economy. This *************** all started long before him. I know Bush might be the modern day Regan to some but really, look where this country was after him.
Again, not laying it all on Bush because there was an opportunity for Obama to make some real change, especially when it came to the wars.

This whole conversation about the debt ceiling is off the wall anyway.
The increase has happened many many many times before by both parties. Usually the party that is not in power votes against the increase.
So here we are with historic economic problems and this was a poor time to pick a fight with possibly disastrous consequences.

We sound as bad as the polititions. The damage is done. Taking turns offering your opinions as to whose to blame is all the polititions and media are doing. Don't get me wrong it is upsetting all of us and we are pissed we let it get this bad. Now it is time to put the blame to rest and start working on solutions. The President hasn't the time for this because he is too busy fundraising. (That alone should wake some folks up) Congress is on recess, (again, a system that needs review and repair) No one group wants to accept a belt tightening in fear of re election loss. The ideas are all out there, some make perfect sense. I say straighten this out or don't run again. Do something in Washington to earn your position.

Kevin. You are of course correct but there are still many out there that will say more government spending and regulation are the solution. We are going into the double dip recession that many predicted. A stimulus delivers a short term boost to a few sectors of the econmy at the expense of long term growth. It can be judiciously used in a robust econmy but it is to big a burden on an economy that is alrady ailing. It is like drinking coffee when what you really need is rest. We are so eager for a guick fix that we sell out our future. We need to talk about and learn from the mistakes that we keep making so we do not continue to repeat them.

Bush was no Reagan his spending and debt went up because he was to willing to compromise.

When Bush left office (January 2009)unemployment was 7.6 percent and the national debt was 10.6 trillion, his budget deficit was .65 trillion in hids lst year. (I cannot defend any of these numbers except to say at least they were not worse)3 years later 9.1 percent unemployment, 14 plus trillion dollar deficit and growing, anunual deficit about 2 trillion a year. Which of these numbers are you defending and how do you sleep at night after doing it.
