Mark, some guy's have used a turkey baseter(sp?)to remove Tranny fluid, some have used a small pump to remove it. I use a huge syringe with a rubber tube on the end to draw out the fluid. It takes awhile but no mess and I get most of it out.

A vacuum pump similar to this works well for the removing trans fluid and comes in handy for a variety of fluid removal operations.

We use the suck up and it works great... a mitivac is supposed to be a quality unit as well.
Mark, whats up with the red rev-gel BFN? You thinking of upgrading? |

I use one of these:

I used one like this. If the collection tank is not connected to the pump, it's helpful to have someone holding the output side as well as the collection container. Or else yes, you will make a mess.
I found I had to poke around a little bit with my suction tube to find the bottom of the trans. Also, I used two identical, empty, windshield washer containers. When I was done sucking out the old fluid, I lined up the container with the old next to the empty container. Then, I filled the empty with the new, until it was at the same level. Then put the stuff in. (This helped insure I was putting back exactly what I took out). |

. I have used the little pumps that you can put on a cordless drill. Worked very well and quick to. It's pretty cheap too.

Tim The red/white is the right color combo for me and if it was a bit closer (and maybe a little lower price) would be worth a look for a nice retirement project. In terms of the upgrade, if you're asking if it would replace my BFW (Barefoot Whaler),I don't ever see getting rid of that boat although adding a few more HP is always a possibility. The avatar addition came as a tip from Dr. Hollywood |
