I just like the sound deading, added ruggitty (sp?) and something I hope I will never ops check- flotation. I increase the cooling air tubes to 4" and made them out of thin wall pipe. JOHN

I saw the pics and the woodwork is looking great. I haven't pulled out much foam yet but I've found a couple of inches of water where i've removed it so far. I don't want it coming back. What is the tube running down the port side next to the bilge? That is the only part of the floor I haven't ripped up yet. I'm jealous of your open bow, but man I'm glad I didn't have to cut the deck to get at the stringers! What do you have for a powerplant in your boat?
Scott

Since you are going no foam, it really does not make sense to fill that void below the shelves.

Just a thought for floation without having foam under the floor to hold water.

Hey Scott,
The tube on the port side is for an addition blower I'm adding to assist in pulling air through the motorbox. At higher speeds the two 4 inch tube coming in along with the two aft tube vents should work well. This added blower is more for lower speeds like no wake zones and so on. She"ll still have the aft original blower set up. The switch on the panel will now be three positon one/off/both. Cheap little mod I thought would be fun to experiment with. I plan on having the blower and plumbing in the boat this week so I 'll post a pic then. I saw Keegan do something similar. JOHN

Been lacking the time and the ambition to really get working on the Southwind. Other projects as well
Got into her pretty good for a couple of days

For those riding around in these old v hulls that haven't had stringer jobs, even with all the foam still left in her my receipt at the transfer station was 520 lbs. All from the foam...

Good eyes, it is a 1960 150. My future father just traded a truck for it. It is converted to a Texas taildragger and has a Horton STOL kit. The guy he got it from had the tail apart to replace the mounting plate for the vertical stabilizer. IA is coming over today to check on the progress. The left aileron was bent by a New York state employee(not worker!) who backed into with a mower at Saranac lake airport so we need to fix that as well. The wings will go back on as soon as the ice in front of the hangar door melts. My fiancee and I will be going for our privates on it sometime soon hopefully. Not before the boat is done though! It's home right now is Steve's airstrip Maule's Roost Lincoln VT.
