Yes the files went to underwriters who then would give the agents the list of conditions to obtain to get them closed.
Actually Eric I told some of them to go get a good loan somewhere else and I told them how much to pay and what rates they could get on a ...wait for it....FNMA loan "A paper" ...that sure did not help my check...thats one of the biggest reasons I left because I knew what people could get and qualify for. Ameriquest did not sell a decent 30 yr fixed. They loved to put over qualified borrowers in crappy loans...I couldn't do it. I am in law enforcement now...how many 47-48 year olds do you know that can get through the police academy????? Oh and I passed the background investigation, voice stress analyzer aka lie detector test (2 times) and got past the psych. So my time in the mortgage and real estate biz was honest. Try competing with criminals. I spent a year talking to clients that wanted to refi to the low rates but nobody had any equity, all underwater...every single one...hard to make a living like that. There is good news for gas prices---Chinas economy is slowing down...the man on the street says no jobs, no new contruction, can't find work. Oil supplies/inventories should rise. And so we will see about that law of supply and demand...stay tuned. Wonder how that will be for GM's new Chinese plant? |

I think if everyone took the time to read this book that maybe the reality of what has happened to our country would come into more clear focus. I think everyone on this site has much more in common with the Occupy Movement 99% than with the richest 1%. Take a moment to at least read the wiki. Winner-Take-All-Politics

Andy, How in the world were you hired for LE at 47 YOA? All states I am familiar with, (I live in Illinois) have a 35 YOA cut off at the time of employment, unless you are currently a LEO changing departments. They also prefer that your BS degree is in Criminal Justice, although any BS degree will allow you to apply. I was by far the oldest in my academy class at the University of Illinois PTI at 34YOA. With a mandatory retirement here of 65 YOA it doesn't leave a lot of time in the profession to establish a pension. I found that although I was the Physical Fitness instructor for my department and still in good shape, the packs of gang members would chuckle before leading us "old guys" on a marathon chase through the public housing, and frequently get away. We age but the "bad guys" always remain 16-25YOA. Us old guys break easier and heal slower. The wheels came off at 50 when I was injured chasing a bunch of them who were pitching rock in the public housing. 4 surgeries in 3 years couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again. I miss it sometimes but I have moved on. BTW, ALL of our officers must pass the standardized physical agility test that is given at the police academy every 6 months regardless of age. There are some relatively minor concessions in the 1-1/2 mile run and the bench press dependent on age. I was one of the instructors who administered the test. Sorry for the Hi! Jack, but I am really interested |

John,
I was in the 600 club at the academy and was 10 yrs older than the next oldest in our class of 42 cadets. I went through the CA dept of fish and game academy which is 7 months long and includes all of the POST requirements plus the fish and game codes and laws. State peace officer and federally deputized(think migratory birds). DFG does not have an age limit going in. Ca highway patrol does have the 36yo cut off. Only need 2 years college.(AS degree earns 50 more a month- a BS only gets you 100 more a month)However what fish and game does is make your life miserable in FTO to try and persuade you to quit. They would tell me to treat everyone as guilty until proven innocent. Once I asked a fly fisherman to see his license my FTO stepped in and demanded the guy put down his flyrod and then wrote me up for not recognizing a flyrod was a weapon that could be used against me. The same FTO wrote me up because I asked two little asian gals to show me their fishing licenses during a rain, they had umbrellas and were down a bank next to the water and below my feet level, he stepped in and hollered, ladies fold up your umbrellas and put em on the ground and wrote me up for not recognizing that umbrellas were weapons to be used against me. I had just taken a loaded gun off a guy 5 minutes prior. It was ridiculous. The next FTO when I asked if I was going to need to demand everyone put their fishing rods on the ground before I talk with them says what? we won't have time for that, do it if you feel threatened yes but no you won't be required to do that. There is more to this tale. |

It sounds like you got a great gig! I assume you have jurisdiction in the whole state. I did the FTO thing for a few years and really didn't like most of it. We are accredited so the paperwork was epic. It sounds like the one guy was a "little" over the top. I never had time for that nonsense.
Stay safe, The conservation guys around here are usually the farthest from back up, and they are called to some big rowdy partys in the parks and forest preserves. We always tried to back them when we saw them, but couldn't monitor their freq. When they came up on ISPERN we would scoot to get there. I hope the local agencies are friendly to you as well. I hope you find that glass! |

Then why do you need the government to do everything for you? |

Rebublicans are much better armed! You might want to consider that little tidbit. Democrats are louder, and that only makes them think they are being heard. |

Why is it that people on the left think the government needs protection from the people, but people on the right think the people need protection from the government?

Well historically there were reasons why we chose to give up absolute freedom and created government. Those reasons still exist last I checked.

And historically we chose to limit ours, the reasons still exist, but the limits seem to go away a little every year.

Historically we left too much government to start over, giving indiviuals more rights, less government. How soon we forget.

We left a government we had no say in to create one that we elected- no taxation without representation was the cry... not no taxation.
If I am to believe overmyheads posts about what convervatives currently think it is that we should not let our elected government protect us from the rich… his arguments were the exact ones used to defend the royalty and the lords back before the advent of democracy in the day.. they provide the jobs, trust them they will take care of us… it is their right. Without a strong democratic government there is no freedom.. not anytime in history and not anywhere in the world. That doesnt mean the government should be used to regulate what goes on in your bedroom, should limit your speach, or tell you where to live or how to make your living. However, it damn well better regulate some things or those who have more money and are willing to act unethically will control you, without representation in ways the goverment never could. Limits on all things... but look at the facts and then discuss and vote on where the limits should be... the right wing simply is currently not controlled by lovers of knowledge and facts many of those that control the money have chosen to double down on failed policies rather than except reality.. and it isnt going to end up pretty. It starts with the tone.. label them a liberal and dismiss them as a sissy. Them there liberal tree huggers, hah we are better armed then them there wussys.. A.. not true, B what good is it gonna do ya? It is just silly talk to seperate you from your countrymen to fight over non issues to let the monied interests continue to buy success instead of work hard and innnovate to be successful. Its the age old fight of the bourgeoisie fighting for the status quo, not because it is better either for the country or for them but because they know it and in it they are the winners. Only problem with maintaining the status quo is that the american dream is to be able to through hard work and innovation rise above and challenge the status quo. We have heard from one person on all these silly threads that comes close to being a liberal... and then a few moderates.. a few actual conservatives and then a bunch of right wingers that have drank too much coolaid and have some views that certainly arent conservative. Dave he is basically hoping for some benevelent oligarchy where if we are really nice to the rich and let them do whatever they want they will magically sprinking jobs down upon us. That aint exactly the american dream I have in mind. |

We're fortunate to live in America
The Republican Party believes that the United States has been blessed with a unique set of individual rights and freedoms available to all. You can be what you are, and become what you are capable of becoming The Republican Party is inspired by the power and ingenuity of the individual to succeed through hard work, family support and self-discipline. Helping those around you is worthwhile The Republican Party believes in the value of voluntary giving and community support over taxation and forced redistribution. Small government is a better government for the people The Republican Party, like our nation's founders, believes that government must be limited so that it never becomes powerful enough to infringe on the rights of individuals. You know what to do with your money better than government The Republican Party supports low taxes because individuals know best how to make their own economic and charitable choices. Free markets keep people free The Republican Party is supportive of logical business regulations that encourage entrepreneurs to start more businesses so more individuals can enjoy the satisfaction and fruits of self-made success. Our Armed Forces defend and protect our democracy The Republican Party is committed to preserving our national strength while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world. The Republican Party is guided by these principles as it develops solutions to the challenges facing America. |

I'll never understand the gun thing, you have highly trained people ie: marines army, and only 15% could actually aim one on another human being and pull the trigger trigger, I got kids i keep the fcn guns out of my house, i know 4000 guys with guns and not one of them has the fcn balls to pull it out...its a piss poor fcn excuse

john I like to think of myself as a republican with some moderate beliefs . I think you have pretty good control in your opinions but do we really have to break out the gun control part of this? it really opens a world of different ignorant statements from both sides . I do believe strongly in an armed society. for hunting . self protection and just for the little bit of comfort it brings me looking back at issues other societies and countries have suffered. I am at the same time embarrased. by the extremists, dooms day preppers etc.. or even from Erics rant i just read , a guy that i always look to as funny if a bit off the wall in his retorts. i think we should leave this topic alone ...
