Where would I find a wiring diagram that shows dashboard & gauge wiring? My manual shows engine wiring, but I want to correct some of the under-dash stuff that previous owners had done. Thanks.

Welcome to the site,
You mentioned in your other post that it's for a 91 (It's good to keep all responses for a subject on one thread) Unfortunately the closest you're going to get for a 91, is this diagram for an 89: http://www.correctcraftfan.com/downloads/1989_SN_Wiring_Diagram.pdf There aren't major differences though. |

Craig, could you post some general pics? Especially a rear view of all the gauges and everything from behind the dash?

Yup will do tonight when I get home if I can get it back together tonight. Anything specific you need? I will take some with it taken apart and then a complete one when it is back together.
I used the Plastex repair kit and it worked very well - just have some sanding to do so and glue the fabric back on in a few small places. Now my dash is in really good shape and no cracks or broken pieces - just a couple crappy looking gauges that need replaced. LOL |

I have gone through ALL the wiring in this boat so can tell you where any and every wire goes. A few late nights and lots of fun
Just about ready to start putting her back together and get her on the water. |

I'm mostly interested in the wiring. I've run a new ground and cleaned some things up on mine, but I think it's going to need a thorough run through.

Here are some pics but not sure its gonna help ya rewire something because some of the wires are the same color that go to different gauges.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can try and help1991 Ski Nautique |

There's more stuff than I realized going to the temp gauge...
I figured: -hot (ignition) wire -ground, -sender -lights I guess everything is daisy chained, so some of those bundles represent one connection. It still looks like a lot. Does one wire go to the alarm or something like that? |

On the Temp gauge you have your grounds and backlight. Then the browns go to the Temp sensor and the purples are power, alarm and the temp warning light.
I can trace them out for ya if you want- while I have the dash off. Its kinda hard to take pictures and trace the wires from a pic. Let me know what you want traced and I can get it done tonight. |

Ok, thanks, that helps. No specific questions. I have that Faria replacement temp gauge, that I've yet to install. My old one allowed moisture in and is kind of fogged over. But, it doesn't use the same spade connectors, so it's not exactly plug n play.

N2Deep posted some nice pictures of the wiring on the back of his gauges. Are black wires in the pictures always ground?

Dave, The black ones should be ground but you never know who's been in there messing with things. You'd better get the VOM out and check. I ALWAYS do before having a problem. |

Craig,
I was looking at your dash wiring pics again. I had one question about the temp gauge area: -The group of Purple wires on the gauge is the ignition daisy chain -The group of Black wires on the gauge is the ground daisy chain -The group of blue/white wires on the gauge is the lights daisy chain -The group of brown/tan wires on the gauge is the sending, right? I see another grouping of two blacks, poking in near the purple ignition. Do you know what those are for? Or is it just the pic that makes it look like they're connecting? Thanks, Brian |

The set of black that is with the set of Blue is the ground for the back lighting or gauge light. The black that is behind the purple is the ground group for the gauge.
Hope that helps |

Ahh, I get it now. Makes sense... well, I understand it anyway. So, the light for the gauge, is treated as it's own separate component. |
