Is there a way to test the foam for water logged other than weighing it?

Does anyone know the proper weight for a 1993 SN open bow?

the weight is not really that accurate, too many variables. The best way to know is drill some test holes.

A little wet foam in a 93 isnt that big of a deal,

water logged foam on a 93? yes probably, but really it can be an extra 400-500 lb, that will not sacrifice much performance. If your are a hardcore slalom skier i see you worried about the extra weigth incresing some the wake. Recreational skier I wouldn´t mess with the foam. 93 there´s no wood there to rot...
just my .02 cents

You might also look through the diaries comparing your water line to others like it. I say that because my swim deck sat very close to water level before I fixed it. After, it jumped up significantly.

I feel pulling the boat over a scale will not hurt. Yes, the factory specs are not the greatest but the results on the weight could tell you something.

I really think you guy's are under estimating the weight of wet foam.
Here's an example... My hot tub lid has become water logged to the point it was very hard to lift it off the tub. I ordered a new one and then took the foam inserts out of the old one in hope of drying it out and having a backup cover.
After sitting in the sun without any plastic on it, it still is heavy as he11. So after reading this I decided to put the bathroom scale to use. Calibrated the scale using dumb bells and weighed the foam it still weighs 42.8 pounds!!!! that's after being in the sun for about 2 weeks. The foam is 3" tapered to 2" thick and 76" long and 36" wide minus the corners of the octagon shape. That is a significant weight gain and that's only half the cover with no vinyl covering.
The new full cover with vinyl and all is only 20lbs

I weighed the bags that came out of my boat, and it was right around 400 lbs. I would describe it as saturated. you could wring it out with your hands and get substantial amount of water.
