Installing a rudder on my CC Mustang. Any one done this before or know something about the installation process. Looks pretty straightforward. I guess I just remove the top pins and then unscrew the big pieces and I guess packing is supposed to go in there?

i took mine off & re-installed on my 79 mustang a few months ago. it's as easy as it looks. there should be packing in there, but I don't want to give you false information about what size packing & if you should re-pack it. you may want to catch the rudder from hitting the ground one way or another when you take the bolts out.

Just use a jack stand or jack to support the rudder when you undo the packing assembly. You might as well drop the rudder and grease the shaft with a quality marine grease upon reassembly.
