have a 1946 Garwood , has a 289 ford interceptor motor, I believe it a Dearborn transmission, looking for parts of a different transmission.

How did you end up with a Ford and Dearbomatic in a 46 Gar??? Parts are difficult to find but there is a guy out east. He's been mentioned and I'll see if I can search to find his name.

Which model Dearbo is it? Hopefully not the designs that used engine oil.

Instead of trying to overcome the dearbo problem, how about a period correct engine? The Gar deserves it!!

Yes I called Jim Harris and he has been very helpful,   It is a Model C Dearborn, I have a velvet drive off of a 327 AMC . different splines , velvet is 26,   will get boat out this weekend and see if hub off AMC will fit on 289 interceptor, will post a picture. Kenny

Kenny,
Put a damper plate on the flywheel to match the Velvet 26 spline. I don't feel you will have a problem with the Velvet matching the bell housing since they were made to SAE specs.

Nice looking Gar! I'd still like to see an appropriate engine under the dog house!

289 clockwize rotation      firing order 18456273      velvet drive has to be for a clockwize rotation also ?

It pre-dates the Ford 289 by some 18 years.

What would it originally have been powered by?
