1968 Mustang

I have a 1968, I think, Correctcraft Mustang. I would like to add mufflers. She is powered by a 318 CID Chrysler and the exhaust ID is 2 5/8". Anyone attempted this?

Here's the Centek 2.5" standard mufflers. The 2.625" you measured is probably where the hose is stretched over the cast manifold. Considering the diameters of the standard mufflers, you may need to consider a short muffler tucked under the aft seat. Although Mustangs run bow high, my only concern would be the higher elevation (centerline) of the exhaust hose/tubing. If you do consider the mufflers, I'd call Centek to discuss the project. I still feel you should keep it original and enjoy the classic sound!

HM boats had the floor cut out under the seats just to clear the rubber exhaust.. Since my pan was taken out in the past I replaced it with one out of a Interceptor powered boat. John b was kind enough to give me his old pan out of the HM boat he parted,my boats twin,27 newer than mine. I used it as a template to cut my pan -



I am not near my boat but the one I have here has the same diameter and brand mufflers on it. Later I can measure them,I don't think the ones Pete linked will fit,as their too big around. Not much room in there

I don't know why the HM's would be special, the LA/LM Chryslers had the same 3" exhaust and neither of mine had notched floor panels.

When converting an interceptor to 3" hose/copper, the larger diameter stuff held the floor up... maybe if the mufflers are tucked as far forward as possible they'll fit but it's gonna be very tight.

Found it, his are not cut out, I must have come up with that on my own then.
