The carburetor for my 1956 Atom is removed for winter clean-up. I have the original maintenance manual, helpful for me to learn the parts and functions etc. Regarding carb maintenance the manual recommends sending for "Graymarine Service Bulletin No. 533 (no charge)" I don't have and google search did not locate this info.
Suggestions and recommendations for a 1956 Graymarine 70 carb overhaul? This is for general clean-up and replacement of gaskets as the engine performed well this past summer. |

John,
Call Jim at Fine Wood Boats for a rebuild kit. He will need the carb number that's on the small round brass disc attached to it. I highly doubt you will need the service bulletin since the carb is probably the simplest out there to rebuild. . As you see on Jim's site, he is moving and will be my new neighbor. I just made a dump run and stopped at his house on my way back to see if he was around. Not yet as I'm sure he's still very busy with the move. I believe he told me he has like 70 engines to move and then there's all the "smaller" stuff ! |
