Neighbor friend seeking a boat for his place down in FLA, sent him this 98 sport as it fit his want list very well, This AM Todd went and checked out the boat and gave a great assessment to help make the decision from 1000 miles away.

Worked out great, deal in principal is done and I think Marc got himself a nice boat and a good buy.

Great people and community here, thanks Again Todd, owe you a beer or 10 the next time I see you!!

Boat has some interesting history I came to learn, seller happens to be friends with Ken and Greg Meloon, apparently Ken skied behind and wrenched on the boat quite a bit, Sellers kid's liked to surf and they had concerns about exhaust, instead of a surf pipe they sent the boat to PCM for a brand new Excalibur w/CAT's :)

Very cool! I’ll never forgot when @hansenindustries aka Chris Hansen checked out a boat we bought from Phoenix and hauled back to Canada. He checked it out and called back. First thing out of his mouth wasn’t “hey man” or any other greeting it was “buy it.” We have been friends ever since :)

Need a side by side GT-40 and 343 comparison. While we all know the characteristics of each I can't imagine there have been Sports with the same hull but one with excal side by side very often.

Great find at a very reasonable price!

We’ve done the test on the TSC2 196... would expect similar results. GT40 holds a holeshot advantage but Excal is faster up top.

Which makes sense, assuming the HP ratings are reasonably accurate. GT-40 wins in the character/feel/sound departments though (personal opinion of course!).

I've thought about what I would do if/when my engine needs to be replaced. Doubt I'd go excal, much more likely a 351 variant of some sort.

What 79' cant learn you thow is I did help same guy find a 98 CBSN for the up north place, very nice boat also. Made the full conversion on him, he had 1 MC, now has 2 CC's :)

Good Lord I completely read that backwards. To my credit I was still in the fog of some sort of virus, doc wouldn't even see me, said just stay home - If its corona virus you don't want anybody to know, and there is nothing we can do for you anyway. Just stay on the fluids and go to the ER if it gets any worse. NICE! Mostly better now, so I doubt it was Corona - HA!
