does anyone have any leads or suggestions about finding a complete wiring harness for my 78 ski nautique. It has the 351 commander engine. Mine is dried and brittle I would like to have both sections(engine and boat)

If you have the old harness as a pattern you can make a new one. In fact if you make a new one you can custom fit each wire to each component for a better finished look. The only problem you will have is the engine to harness connection. I use a terminal block instead of a plug(more reliable). Also to terminate the ends use non-insulated terminals & black shrink tubing to replicate the orignal look. I am in the process of doing one right now. If you need any other info let me know.

When I upgraded the alternator on my '79 I was able to get a new harness from skidim for the engine and it was an exact match to the factory harness. You might try a regional C.C. dealer for the other harness.

Thanks for the ideas, I think I will replace the harness with one one that i make from scratch using my old one as a pattern. And yes i will get the individual colors and heat shrink to make it look factory along with try to locate an eight pin connector.
