Reid,
Yes Fay did give us some good rain. We got back to about mid July levels with even a few ramps open. Full pool is about 1070' & now we are at 1055.7. I think we gained about 2' as well. Still pretty low, but we can at least get through Labor Day weekend! |

Thanks for asking Reid! The papers say we got 2.5'...I'd put it at a fat 2'. The funny part is I thought we were only going to get the 'wind job', but we started getting rain when the storm was almost to Billy's house. It came around in a wierd way by what we consider normal here, but I haven't heard a soul fussing about it!
It's been a tough summer here...we aren't fortunate enough to be on a power lake; I'll know better if we ever move. And while I honor and respect our armed forces(tried to be a part of), the Corps does things that seem to only make sense in their manuals which are written in a strange language that seems to be changeable...they're still making excuses for their '06 screw-up. I heard on the radio that a federal court is deciding whether or not Atl even has rights to the water on lanier?!!? Only time will tell. Greg M, if you're hitting the water this w/e, beware of the log jam I saw yesterday on the upper 'hooch. It's better today, but that only means it's headed your way. Little river pond isn't too bad with the semi-submerged party burners. If I put in tomorrow, I'm sure to be towing a few to the shore. On the lighter side the lake level has me back working on the boat. Heck, with 2 more on the way we might even be able to host the spring fling as we mentioned before. We really would love to host that if the lake could be more predictable. We have some camping room here at the house and even a couple of extra beds. Our ramp just opened back up this morning, but is only suitable for OB's right now. We'll keep yall posted! |
