I'm looking for an Airguide pitot for our '79 BFN. The ones that were on it were fine- but they dont match. One is all black, the other is gray/black. Id like to find one (either black or gray/black) so that I have a matching pair. Id be willing to trade if someone has one available. Both function perfectly.

If anyone has one for sale outright, thats fine too- shoot me an email: TRBenj@gmail.com

Welcome to the club!
I have been painting them with a product called bumper and trim Black 3400 by urethane supply company.
I utilize the stuff on rub rails and any other rubber or small vinyl parts. So far so good and I have found it holds up very well.
I get the stuff at my local Auto paint supply store.

Is this a north vs south thing?

Bruce- thats the same as the matching pair I just put together with Gary's help. I assume this is for your Malibu? Are you trying to keep it original? If not, I say pull off the good one and swap on a pair from SkiDIM. You can enlongate the holes on the pitot itself so you dont have to drill any new holes in the boat.

That's a good idea. I think we can deviate from its origonality with the pitot tubes. That doesn't seem to be an issue with the Malibu Fans. I didn't realize the pitot could be altered to fit the holes on the boat. Thanks for the idea.

Tim,

Sounds like you are covered, but I see all types on E-Bay under a Airguide search. They are usually with a older Air and Sea Speedo, but those sell for reasonable price.

I hope this helps,

Donald
