Was going over the boat for my initial "must fix" parts list and noticed there is a 1/4-1/2 inch gap between the front lift ring and the hull, which I'm guessing is where a gasket should go? If that is the case where on earth would I find one of those at? Checked skidim and such and didnt see anything close.

I've never seen a gasket. Get under the bow and adjust the ring closer to the deck.
It will also give you the opportunity to inspect the hardware and attachment point. |

Ive never seen a gasket either. My Skier has gap between the flange and the deck... its solid though. I figure the boat was probably built on a Friday!

should there be some type of silicone b/w the gel of the deck and the ring? I'd sure be careful to ensure that ring tightened up evenly.

Steve,
I suggest no caulking btween the deck and eyes. You do get some hull flexing when lifting and you want the lifting point to float. With cauking you may transfer stress into the deck. |

I know my local Ace has an array of different rubber, neoprene and cork gaskets. Cannot remember what I did on the Skier, but I probably sealed it with 5200. Will take a look when I get home. I do not use the lift hooks. Maybe once I get that lake house with the boat house.
