    Posted: April-17-2012 at 8:26pm
I am thinking that it might be a good idea to get a service or Recon Kit for my 89 SN 2001 in case i get any carb / fuel issues If it has to come apart at least I'll have the gaskets Now what am i looking for ? / how much are they ? what carb issues am i likely to encounter on this boat? presumably there is a Holley Recon manual somewhere ??
by the way I am in the Uk so it will be a mail order jobbie
Thanks Boyd

Might be a good idea since it would be very hard to get one fast if you really needed it. Post your LIST number from the air horn on here and I'll call the Holley tech line tommorow to get you the right part numbers for the kit.

I don't know how you will find the List # if your airhorn has been cutoff, maybe the kit I used would be the same since a kit covers multiple carbs and mine is off a 351.Here's a picture of mine, you can see where the list # is compaired to the fuel inlet.

As for the original post ... Only running propane through there it might work forever?

That's an interesting setup with the natural gas. With that setup, is the Holley basically just being used for the throttle body and nothing else? Does the propane even go into the fuel bowls?

That is what I was wondering, with the lp setup it would seem all the common things to get gummed up or need to be replaced are all vestigial. Maybe he runs it dual fuel capable so you would need to maintain it for when you are out of propand and need to run the expensive stuff?

Hi Guys yes its dual fuel LPG here is 50p litre, petrol is £1.38 a litre at the Club Lake we run LPG from a club Tank but occassionally I use petrol, often for start and warm up the LPG system and changeover is fairly crude ( 3 steps    Fuel shut off LPG valve solenoids open/ activate and a gizmo on the carb intake ) when you switch over it runs on both because although fuel is shut off its still in the Carb Float chamber so she chugs a bit on rich ie both till the chambers empty.
I run petrol just enough to stop it gumming up also my lads like a full fuel tank fro wakeboarding whereas me i like an empty LPG tank and about 1/8 to 1/ 4 petrol even then the wakes too big at 30-32 I am looking at ways of meeting both requirements perhaps a smaller petrol tank up front and a ballast tank in its place and possibly a smaller LPG tank as i can fill up anytime ( the lake is just big enough for a slalom course ) so never far away from any LPG fill up.
But she starts easy on petrol LPG can be quite difficult on a cold morning

Yep on LPG the holley is just a throttle body LPG jets in on top venturi effect
I might even be running this year with the LPG tank out for some flat wake! The 100L tank is quite heavy on the stern I'd love to see how much the wake differs with it out maybe make me a better slalom skier?

Done!
Boyde, did you fit the LPG (/arrange it to be fitted) yourself or did you buy the boat already with?
Just wondering what it costs as ideally want both my Discovery and boat changing..
Thanks

SKIDIM will need the list # like anyone else, but if it runs on gas I bet it's still there under that contraption. A kind of interesting thing, when I installed my new carb last night, the list number was different from the one that came off. Might just be a little more modern version of the 4160 there are a few differences I can see externally, but nothing major. Fired right up a ideled at 400 RPM's long enough for me to jump in the back to turn it up.
