84 SN2001

This might be long. I have had on going issues with the boat and have been fixing them one at a time. As I have money.

Well we took her out finally to test steering and to try see smoking issue again etc. Well the boat barely smoked at all. I am wondering if the cold temps might have made it smoke before? The steering is fixed, I replaced the rudder packing and this thing turns super smooth now.

To the problem, there were 3 of us wakeboarding, we all had taking one set with no issues. We stopped to relax a few then my friend was riding and i was driving and I felt a little surge or stutter, I figured maybe it was the Perfect Pass or something and kept going. Then came 2 more stuttters and the boat died. I had no power or anything. So we pushed the circuit breaker reset on the motor and we got power back.

Well after that I was getting no fuel. I checked the filter and gas was coming out. The pump is definately on. But no gas what so ever was coming out of the injectors. So I am attaching a couple of pictures. It has a holley fuel controller on it and I unplugged it to reset it etc and that didnt work. Any ideas? Here is a link to the picture and what is not geting fuel. http://www.the2001.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=1097

The perfect pass also went nuts after this happened. A fues blew going to it. ( No other fuses blew in the boat). Then when i replaced it the RPM sensor board threw sparks. I am going to contact PP about this issue.

I really appreciate all the help and support I have been getting from this board. Hopefully one day I and help others or you out in some way. Thanks

Burban, I thought that posting the pictures would help. It may peak the interest of some of the guys. Also I know some of us have short attention spans and may not read the book you wrote and posted!!!

LOL i figured the more info the better for things like this.

I have been messing with this thing since lunch. I know fuel is making it all the way to the injectors but not coming out of them. I know the injectors are electric. I cant find my meter to test the power but can anyone tell me if there are any inline fuses or anything? Any thing to try?

Burban, Did you catch this thread? fuel injection

I'm also going to do a search on it because I'm curious. Did you? It doesn't sound like a good retrofit system!

No i didnt see that post. This boat had FI on it when I bought it. It has ran perfect untill now. Per the old owner he had no problems with it at all. So i am just trying to fix it.

I tested power to everything and everything has power. I am lost now.

TBI injectors are usually controlled on the -ve side of the injector. Just because they are get +12v on one wire doesn't mean they will fire.

Worst case I have to put a Carb on it, what carb is recommended? Any idea what I have to do to go back to carb? I mean I know this fuel controller has a lot of wires coming out of it.

Also I am being told there is a slight chance there could be some trash in the system, I did run it pretty low per the guage before the last fill up. It is probably a long shot but we are going to look into that tonight.

Ok interesting fact i just read. I downloaded the book from Holley on this kit. It says that if you do not have a rpm reading the injectors will not open.

Well I also found out what was wrong with my perfect pass, the RPM Sensor board fried. So I can run my Perfect pass by unplugging the sensor wire per Perfect Pass. (which does work)

So I know the rpm reading come from the coil? (please correct me if I am wrong). Any ideas? Should I run a new wire from the coil? How can you check a coil? Thanks
