1993 SPORT NAUTIQUE PCM 40A 1.23/1 92-12714

I have a transission leak. When I pulled the flange apart to check for aligment oil came out between the flanges. I guess that this meens that the rear seal is bad and needs to be replaced. Should I also do the front seal at the same time, and what about the damper plate. Is it time to change it or do I wait till I need a transmission rebuild ? I do not have any noise from the damper plate!

its not your rear seal, its the flange nut washer leaking, normally you put a bead of silicone on the nut washer on installation. its leaking between the splines...you need a 36mm skinny socket to remove the nut
how many hours? how far did you let the oil leak down? no doubt i would change the damper, just because

I have 816 hours on the boat. I allways check the oil in the transmission every day that I run the boat.I do not think that the transmission was ever low on oil, at least not on my watch.I bough this boat Jan 07
