Before I get flamed, yes, I did use the search tool but was unable to find the specific answer to my questions.

When my strut bearing is dry (boat on trailer) and I turn the prop shaft, I get a growl that is coming from the strut. Not a constant, continuous growl. Shaft has been checked for straightness and is properly aligned to transmission. The bearing looks to be in good shape as much as you can tell with the shaft in place. I.e. doesn't look to be dried out, chipped or falling apart.

Lack of LUBE, in this case WATER....Fill up the fuel tank, throw in your ski gear, hook up the tow ride and head SOUTH to SJRR 2012... That is all she needs.............Billy

Thanks Boat Dr. That was the reply I had hoped for. Unfortunately, the SJRR isn't in the works for me this year. Work, fuel prices, family obligations etc. Thanks for the help. Ya'll have fun.

Just add water, and take her for a run! Then after she's back on the trailer, check it again while the boat is still wet and dripping.
Cheers,

i try to remember to spray down the strut before running the engine on the land [trailer]. i can stop the nuetral drag by hand but that growl is a terribly awful noise
