Heat will never be an issue for me, it's almost always cold here. The snap-in carpets like the newer nautiques have, does sound really nice to me.

My major issue with it is, sometimes the cover gets put on before its really dried out and then it smells like a dirty gym sock in the boat. Anyone have a solution for that? Febreeze?

I've have Hydroturf on my gunwales, I love it and haven't had any issues other than they couldn't match the gel so I had to use a blue marbled color. First boat I did in 04/05 and it's still there and the owner wants some more. I've been thinking about doing the floor, and do have a piece under the playpen cushion. That works nice when we go to events I use that space for storage and leave the cushion at home.
I think the floor would look odd though with hydro turf instead of carpet so I've got 2 ideas. One is the Sea Dek that looks like teak or at least like wood. Only problem is where to end it front and back. The other idea is hydroturf the floor and then cover it with some snap in carpet. Most of the time I don't mind the carpet, but it seems like every year there are one or two times when it rains or we have lots of traffic in the boat that it just gets to be a pain to clean it up. It's those times when I wish I could take it out ahead of time or at least have the ability to get it cleaned and dried quickly. |

Seadek is what they use on the new Nautiques and what the Centurion Carbon Pro flooring is. It comes in solids and faux teak.

I'm thinking about this product:
http://monstaliner.com/ Colors, UV stable, non slip. Seems like a good idea. |
