Iam in the process of redoing the floor and possibly stringers in my 1986 2001. Can I remove the "hump" under the driver side bow? Or does it have some sort of structural functin? Thanks guy's.......

I am not sure, but here is my $0.02 worth since I intimately know the construction of my '93. I believe the "hump" in front of the drivers feet serves two purposes:
1. Allows space for the steering cable, vent hose(s) and electrical wiring to transition into the bilge area. 2. Allows a place to mount the kickboard. Structurally, I do not believe it is needed as there is not one on the other side. |
