Installing cam in 312 with clockwise rotation.....utilizing direct gears instead of timing chain set.
Need info on how to align the gear/gear marks. Thanks |

Aren't there dimples on gears? They should line up. Where did you get the gears? They would be able to tell you for sure.

Yes, there are marks. but I can't get them to "meet" and have both valves closed at #1 tdc on firing stroke. They are the original gears. Was hoping someone out there had a photo ( lost mine) or other reliable reference. Thanks.

Call boat dr.. The manual states how to line them up with a timing chain, but not gears..
