Mold and vinyl

Here's One

3M products worked good for me. I believe there is a mildew stain remover that is bleach based, but did not seem to dry out the vinyl like others I have tried. Follow up with the vinyl conditioner/protector.

Hi Pete, you can find a product at the Dollar Store called Totally Awesome. It comes in a purple bottle. Guaranteed to clean the vinyl quickly. Make sure to rinse well with fresh water, then apply vinyl treatment of your choice such as 303. I have used it for years, will not damage vinyl if flushed after cleaning.

Damn 580 has always had a weak spark. Iridium plugs do help. I'm waiting on a new coil as it's primary Ohm'd out of spec. For a 1991, the coil wasn't easy to find. The armature Ohm'd out good and there's no way to check the CDI box. I'm hoping the coil will improve the spark.. I hate standing on my head working blind!!!

Time for me to come out of the shed too - I still have a tube, It hasn't been inflated for many years though!

Jetskis are nasty to work on, Some guys pull the engine just so they can get to the screws.

Back to the subject - The most effective way i have found to get rid of mildew is to replace the vinyl.

I wonder if you were to use Babe's cleaner and 303, if in the future it would help. Take pictures and make note where the original stains are. After your month of open water use put it away like you have in the past and we will revisit this next spring

Thanks. I did some searching for mold removers but I'm just coming up with bleaches and disinfectants used typically after water damage to a home.

The Rejuvinol does come up as a line of cosmetics. Their primary products seem to revolve around hair and skin restoration. I've never seen or met you but is that how you remembered the product?

I'm still looking but as mentioned, the wife understands the vinyl may stay the way it is. She's still happy that I'm putting in the effort to get it out on the water again.

Not 100% for certain on the product name Pete.    It could be a case where the tech makes-up a name for an item.
As an example, a friend of mine came to work with me at Malibu.   He started calling a Reed and Prince screwdriver a Rod Impedance screwdriver.   I liked the new name so much, that it's just stuck with me all these years.   So, if we do meet one day and you need me to hand you a screwdriver for a Phrearson screw, you'll have to ask for a Rod Impedance.
I'll try to find more info on this.   It's some sort of industrial antimicrobial. It worked very well on leather without the harshness and stench of bleach.

At work, what is it needing the R&P (Rod impedance )? You mention Malibu. Is it a Malibu dealership that also works on old boats?
I kick myself every time I think about lending out my set of R&P's. It was a full set of Snap-ons #1 to #4. and never got it back. Now since no one seems to make them anymore, I have to rely on the bits.

It probably would, but it may not remove the stain.
