Some ply or dimension board, 5 minute epoxy & it is a done deal.

I have tried to avoid permanent mods, at least ones that show.

If you want to mount under the gunnel close to the helm throttle/shift, an aluminum bracket would be a good choice. If there isn't any backing to screw to, through bolt the bracket on behind the gunnel but hide the bolt heads under the combing pad.

if you want to mount your kill switch in the combing pad, I don't think that's a bad location, mine is located there, and I believe it was a factory install...   instead of cutting though, you'd need to punch a hole in the vinyl with a leather punch so that the stress put on the vinyl won't cause the "cuts" to continue.   You'd have to take the skin off, and punch it, vs trying to cut/drill.   I think it is more work, and may not have a great result, but if that is where you want your switch, it is worth a try. A template would be helpful in this case for marking the hole/switch/punch location.
