Can you remove a skeg without having to access the nuts inside the hull? For instance, did Correct Craft use nut plates for the skegs so you don't have to worry about the nuts inside the hull spinning or moving out of place when unscrewing the bolts?

No plates, no nuts on that era boat. Just screws. Cc smartened up and decided a fin strike shouldn't result in massive holes in the hull.
